Why an evening routine is so important
Your skin primarily repairs itself at night. While you sleep, your body increases cell renewal, produces more collagen, and repairs damaged skin cells. A good evening routine supports this process and enhances the results of your skincare products.
The perfect evening routine step by step
Step 1: Double cleansing
Start with an oil-based cleanser to dissolve makeup, SPF, and sebum. Then follow with a water-based cleanser for a deep pore cleanse. Clean skin is the foundation for everything that follows.
Step 2: Toner or essence
A hydrating toner prepares your skin for the next steps and restores its pH balance. Choose an alcohol-free toner for sensitive skin.
Step 3: LED light therapy (10-20 minutes)
This is the moment for your LED mask or red light therapy device. Use it on clean skin without products — light penetrates better through clean skin. Red light stimulates collagen and accelerates cell renewal, perfect as preparation for your serum.
Step 4: Serum
Apply your serum immediately after your LED session while your skin is still warm and receptive. Choose from:
- Vitamin C serum — for brightening and protection against free radicals
- Retinol serum — for cell renewal and anti-aging (use in the evening)
- Hyaluronic acid serum — for deep hydration
Step 5: Eye cream
The skin around your eyes is thinner and more sensitive. Gently pat a small amount of eye cream with your ring finger — never rub.
Step 6: Night cream or sleeping mask
Finish your routine with a rich night cream or a hydrating sleeping mask. This forms a protective layer that locks in moisture while you sleep.
The golden rule: consistency
An evening routine only works if you follow it consistently. Even a simplified version — cleanse, LED, serum, cream — is better than an elaborate routine that you only do occasionally.
